Tuesday Inspiration: Autumnal Tweed | Budget Wedding Blog

One of my favourite things about this time of year is pulling out the tweed. Tweed Jackets + Autumnal leaves makes for a totally awesome look and I am a big fan of tweed at weddings, but it's definitely not just for the boys!

Traditionally tweed is super pricey (especially the Harris variety) which I've recently seen being made up on the Outer Hebrides and you can see why it comes with such a hefty price tag, it's seeped in history and loving crafted in cottage industries across the islands by families that have been weaving for generations. If you've got the money I would certainly recommend going for the real thing as it will last you a lifetime, but you can do the tweed look for less...

Scour charity shops

You'll be amazed at what you find, especially in the form of mens jackets. Don't let the size or cut put you off though, that £5 blokes blazer can be tailored to fit your little size 10 waist for around £30, you just need to find a good local tailor.

Buy offcuts and get crafty

You can buy offcuts online quite cheaply and use to create gorgeous garlands like this, Autumnal bunting, wrapping jamjars, crafting favours, wrapping your bouquet...

Create Designer Style Pieces

{Dress: Dolce & Gabbana}
This gorgeous little frock would be perfect for a flower girl but being from Dolce & Gabbana it's going to be a tad pricey! You could easily recreate this look by customising this simple £12.99 Wool Dress from H & M with some pretty lace from the habadashery!

Not just for the fellas

A tweed jacket over your wedding dress looks awesome. FACT. plus it's getting clod out and there's no point shivering when you can look this good
